“It is really creepy dealing with AI bots.

On the other hand, things were looking good when I was able to call on a Sunday evening and book an appointment for 8 AM Monday morning. I guess you don’t have to pay bots time and a half.

I received a phone call from. Marlon at 7:45 AM Monday morning, saying that he would be at my place within the hour. OK so this isn’t quite an 8 AM appointment but, whatever.

I waited another 90 minutes with no word from Marlon so I called and got another bot who was “so sorry” for the delay and would connect me to Dispatch right away. I was then disconnected.

I called again and got the bot who was once again so sorry for the delay and would connect me to dispatch right away. I was disconnected again.

Out of desperation, I messengered through the Facebook site and received a reply from an actual human being, who promised to get Marlon to call me.

Marlon showed up closer to 10 and when I pointed out how late he was, he said the traffic was bad. I can understand that, but I said he should have at least called me to let me know he was running late.

Like so many Gen Z people He stared at me blankly like he didn’t understand this concept.

I’m hoping that we weren’t charged for “travel time” for this visit which was close to $500 for fixing a light switch.

Paradise Lost.”
